New York has a vibrant network of mediators from diverse personal and professional backgrounds. NYSAMP mediators are neutral, independent, and dedicated to the agricultural community.
Mediators receive at least 30 hours of intensive instruction by a trainer certified by the New York court system. New mediators continue their training during an apprenticeship period, and maintain their qualifications with additional training each year.
Most mediators are not lawyers. Although mediators receive general training in legal matters relevant to their specialties, they do not provide legal advice.
Mediators serve all counties in New York State through a network of Community Dispute Resolution Centers.
